Speedy delete
editI disagree that this page should be up for speedy deletion. It is not nonsense and should at least go the standard deletion route. --Alabamaboy 02:51, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- It's not even a VfD candidate. The salt of the earth is a very notable concept in Christianity. - Ta bu shi da yu 02:53, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
It was a speedy delete candidate b/c someone thought is was patent nonsense. I removed that delete notice. --Alabamaboy 03:00, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Ya... I know :) you beat me to it! I think it's a pretty good attempt at explaining the phrase, which is quite notable in Christian circles. - Ta bu shi da yu 03:03, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I totally agree. While the article does need to be cleaned up, it is better than most new articles in dealing with a subject. --Alabamaboy 03:11, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Verifiability
editI added to reference to David Bloch's article in order to confirm the historical information about salt being used as a salary for Roman soldiers. Nathan Larson 03:39, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Salt and light
editSupport They share the same scope. Rupert Loup (talk) 20:32, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
- Comment: In light of the much more recent deletion discussion I am removing the merge tag - there is consensus to keep this as a separate article. StAnselm (talk) 06:30, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
