Battle of Cable Street and other stuff
editI've removed the reference to the Battle of Cable Street because Sam wasn't there, he was already on his way to Spain.
There's a bit more that can be added to this article: his trade union awork at an aircraft factory during the war, what he was doing in Brussels in 1940 under a French alias, his work delivering relief in the Netherlands after the war and so on. I'm afraid I can't be specific enough for this site because I have lots of anecdotes but very few citations! Grumpy1313 (talk) 23:24, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for your contributions and welcome to Wikipedia. I included the bit about Cable Street on the basis of this Guardian article, which says "the last thing he did before going to Spain was fight on Cable Street" and quotes Lesser directly about police anti-Semitism on the day. So if you're certain he wasn't there then I'm happy to leave it out, but if there's a possibility he was there just before leaving for Spain then I think it probably ought to stay in the article. (It'd be great to add more on the events you list but I think we've exhausted everything reliable sources have had to say about his life. Your best bet might be to try to get your anecdotes published somewhere, which I'm sure would be a benefit not just to Wikipedia.) – hysteria18 (talk) 20:06, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
