There's a lot wrong with the suggested photo from a technical point of view (which happens a fair bit when cropping the non-focal point of an image), some of these things include it's out of focus, the white balance/colour is wrong due to not being the focal point, high ISO impacting subject in image and so on. Two main factors should be looked at for an image and that's technical and visual composition. The player is still identifiable in the current image and far outweighs the suggested image from a technical point of view; the visual composition in the suggested image doesn't outweigh the current image to the same extent of the technical aspect in the previous sentence. When a better photo emerges in the future (technical and/or visual composition wise), then the current one can be replaced if desired, but at the moment there isn't one (including the suggested image).
