editThis article links to Spanish's "Sema", which is a semiotic component. No relation to the "sema" discussed here. The link should, therefore, be deleted. --Jorge5934 17:26, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Jorge

Help appreciated
editI'm almost tempted to add the {{expert}} tag to this article and walk away because of my utter lack of familiarity with the topic. But considering the title of User:Fuzheado's book is How a Bunch of Noob's Created the World's Greatest Encyclopedia, I think I'll give it a shot. If anyone familiar with it comes along and wants to help out (or tell me I'm flat wrong) at some point in the process any input is appreciated. Recognizance (talk) 18:47, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Sema is an Arabic word
editSema سماع is an Arabic word not a Farsi word. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.48.83.42 (talk) 16:09, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- BTW why is the title of this article Sama and not Sema (the correct word)? --E4024 (talk) 09:56, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Other than that, both "sema" and "semah" yield to this page; which is not correct. --E4024 (talk) 20:53, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
The position of music in Islam
editThe "position of music in Islam" is just a rant. I doubt there has ever been a study proving 'music effects the body parts' (if so a citation would be nice) and Sema predates the Western Hemisphere by hundreds of years. It wouldn't harm anything to just remove the entire section, but a good rewrite would be better. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.203.222.74 (talk) 17:27, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Please, leave one article free from the Bidah Monsters
editLook, under the Opponents, it says that "some" people think it is a "bidah", and we all know who the "some people" here are. They are Wahhabis or Salafis, engorged with all the Saudi King's petrodollars to wipe out every single aspect of Islam that they don't like, or general Islamic culture, and replace it with their dry, literalistic, strange version of "Islam", as described by such "greats" as Ibn Taymiyya and Ibn AbdulWahhab. Please, please, let us not let them vandalize every page about Islam that they do not agree with. They are a minority, and if not for Saudi petrodollars would have no adherents. We should not air their dirty views in every article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.49.28.170 (talk) 07:07, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Sema ceremony
editLook at Mevlevi Order article. It clearly states: "The Mevlevi Sema Ceremony." It does not say: Sama. Conflict between 2 articles, on the same concept. --E4024 (talk) 11:02, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Added Turkish version of the name:Sema. This way it makes more sense. (At least when referred to the "Turkish ceremony" we use "Sema", the Turkish word.) --E4024 (talk) 11:11, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
