Firebombing or attempted arson
editIt's not 100% clear from the sources I've accessed but it appears petrol was used on the house, and either it was not lit or there was a failure to light it, or something else was lit. There's definitely attempted arson, so that's what I've gone with. It's also clear that there wasn't a major fire, and probably not a significant one, if any.
Please feel free to improve if there's good evidence. The court record might be such an example.

- PS I also suspect the protective custody came before the arson attempt, but this need more research, and it's only a suspicion.
