editReferring to version of 08:10, 11 October 2008:
The first sentence of this article may be OK.
The first half of the first sentence of the 2nd paragraph is taken word-for word from the source. The second half of the same sentence is also taken word-for-word from the source, though the two halves are in different sentences in the source. The entire second sentence of the 2nd paragraph is taken word-for-word from the source. The 3rd sentence is not copied from that source: that source says nothing about patents. Perhaps this link could be used to verify the statement about a patent.
The first sentence of the 3rd paragraph is probably OK, though it's somewhat similar to the source. The 2nd sentence is identical word-for-word.
Paragraphs 4 to 6 and paragraph 9 seem to be identical to paragraphs in the source.
Paragraphs 7, 8 and 10 are not from that source but are unverified. this obituary can help verify some of the statements.
The copyrighted material was added on 10 October 2008 by Buhadram (talk · contribs) when creating this article, but Wayback shows that the website had the material much longer than that, so the website was not copying from Wikipedia. ☺ Coppertwig (talk) 13:44, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
I developed a new version at Talk:Samaun Samadikun/Temp. Much of this material is simply copied from the last version of the article here and is unverified. I removed the material that was identical to the source that was identified in the copyright problem template. I wrote most of a paragraph based on that source but without copying word-for-word. I added two references. I have also notified the contributor of the copyrighted material. ☺ Coppertwig (talk) 14:10, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Note: I added footnotes with references, but it could be misleading, because the references support some but not all of the information in the preceding text. ☺ Coppertwig (talk) 21:54, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Subject Notability
editThe article's lede needs to assert the subject's notability. Reading the article, I can't really see what would fit, but the subject is probably notable under criteria 2 or 6 of the Notability Guide for Academics. 202.155.85.18 (talk) 00:40, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
