Birthyear?
editThe article gives both 1945 and 1948 as his year of birth. Which is correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kranak (talk • contribs) 12:35, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Gravano was born in 1945. Lock & Key (talk) 05:47, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
World Trade Centre Construction
editNo mention in the article regarding Gravano's claims in his book "Underboss" that a construction company he was involved in had a sizeable contract in the construction of the World Trade Centre. I can imagine mafia involvement would have meant some serious corners were cut to keep costs down and maximize profits, could this have had anything to do with the way the towers collapsed so easily. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.177.116.201 (talk) 02:56, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
LOL, dude get a brain.
This is a real stretch. --204.83.127.135 (talk) 03:07, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
That's not how it worked sammy had a video talking about the scam. They basically just over bid on a contract and forced the developer to take it and they took off the top. Look up the concrete club WILDGUN96 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 01:31, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

Hes also referenced in the GZA's song Killa hills 10304 "now look whos on the witness stand singing, a well known soprano, a smash hit from Sammy Gravano" also the GZA is 200 times better then Tony Yayo —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.233.13.206 (talk) 23:34, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Really?
edit"Gravano was involved in petty crimes, as he almost always had been, such as larceny, hijacking, and armed robbery."
Hijacking and armed robbery are petty?!? I'll concede that they aren't as bad as murder, but "petty"?!?!? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.17.150.48 (talk) 20:00, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Unsourced, Unencyclopedaic.
editThe article is a mess - it needs massive pruning. Trilobyte fossil (talk) 08:04, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
- Trimming, perhaps, but use a scapel, not a hatchet. Your "pruning" left the article devoid of the most essential details of Gravano's life and with huge gaps. Previous version restored.-PassionoftheDamon (talk) 17:21, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- OK - can we agree on what to trim? What for you are the essential details of Gravano's life? Trilobyte fossil (talk) 19:21, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Certainly his complicity/involvement in the murder of his brother-in-law, Nicholas Scibetta. How he rose to consegliere. His involvement in the hit on Castellano. His activities as Gotti's underboss. The 19 murders he admitted to committing -- and the others for which he is suspected. The reason why he says he turned state's evidence against Gotti. What he testified to at trial. The details of the massive ecstasy ring he was convicted of running in Arizona after his relocation. All of this essential information is left out of your "pruned" version. Indeed, your version contains massive gaps, jumping from the early 70s to 1988 in a whirlwind and completely bypassing the most important years of his criminal career. It only mentions the 19 murders he admitted to in passing (contrast this with the Roy DeMeo article). It omits any mention of his contraction of Graves' disease. And, most egregiously, it doesn't even specify what offense he was convicted of in Arizona -- all the reader gets is, "His son was also imprisoned for 9 years for his role in the drug ring." What drug ring? That's the first and only time it's ever mentioned. Then there are the redundant references to his autobiography and the fact that although you claimed to object to the detailed version on grounds that it is "unsourced," your "pruned" version doesn't offer any sources either. You simply swapped one largely unsourced version for another. As I said, I agree that the current/detailed version can be condesnsed (particularly in "Moving to the Gravano's" section), but that's no reason to rob the article of all of its content and leave behind nothing but an incomplete, gap-ridden shell.-PassionoftheDamon (talk) 06:40, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'll look at leaving that in. I don't plan to add any sources to the article, it's not an area I know anything about or have any interest in. I came across it at random and it seemed to me it was far too long. So I removed unsourced material. Perhaps you would consider adding some sources? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Trilobyte fossil (talk • contribs) 18:27, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- I can add some sources. I don't really have the time right now to take on the whole thing at once, but I can work gradually, sort of plodding through section by section whenever I get a chance. There's an abundance of material on Gravano, so it shouldn't be a problem getting sources for most of the salient details of his life.-PassionoftheDamon (talk) 21:35, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me Trilobyte fossil (talk) 00:38, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Citation needed
edit"Since Gravano's imprisonment on drug charges he has contracted Graves' Disease,[citation needed]"
This fact is confirmed on page 451 of Selwyn Raab's book "Five Families, if someone wants to add the citation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.82.225.245 (talk) 07:44, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
Nickname
editwhere did his nickname "bull" come from? does anyone know? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.244.22.233 (talk) 05:57, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
- It's in the article, search for "bull". --CliffC (talk) 19:08, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Article says he was 13 and a gang member. I heard he was younger and took on 2 bigger kids. The wise guys broke up the fight and sent the 2 older boys on their way. This first brought him to the attention of these guys but they knew his fther from the neighbour hood.

Drug conviction
editI believe I read that subsequent to his drug convictions Gravano was incarcerated in a super-max prison. It may have been Pelican Bay State Prison in Crescent City, California although I'm much less confident of this latter factoid. Dick Kimball (talk) 16:56, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
Pelican Bay prison is run by the California Department of Corrections, so it's not going to hold someone convicted on Arizona or federal charges. 03:14, 30 April 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.229.209.145 (talk)

Alan Kaiser
editShouldn’t there be some mention of Alan Kaiser, the 16 year-old kid who died when he got caught up in the confrontation between Sammy’s crew and the leader of the bikers? He had the misfortune of being there when Sammy and his crew tried to kill the leader of the bikers who had caused the altercation at his club, and ended up getting killed by either Sammy himself or his crew in the chaos, apparently being mistaken for a biker trying to attack them in the confusion. I feel like that should be mentioned. Anasaitis (talk) 06:25, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- He's mentioned in a New York mag article that came out when Underboss was published (they put up a lot of their old issues for free on Google Books) if you're looking for sources. Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 12:29, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
