I believe almost all articles about ice hockey players from Europe use the correct title, with characters not found in the English language. I've seen a lot of discussions about using non-English characters in articles but I haven't found any consensus on that issue. --claes 14:24, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

The inconsistancies of the NHL Euro bio article titles, should be solved. Jaromir Jagr (for example) uses the English form. GoodDay 18:14, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Pronunciation

If Pahl-suhn is not correct, than try to correct that phonetic one rather than waiting until an IPA. We should be able to have a phonetic in the meantime. Would it be Pahl-sohn? Alaney2k (talk) 05:01, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

No, not close to either one. Best way I can describe it is Poolson, the oo should be pronounced exactly like they are in Moore. But I would like to settle this IPA-issue once and for all, so we can add IPA to all pages that need it. Well, good luck. I would suggest putting in Pool-sohn then. There are guides to phonetics too. However, when I hear his name on the radio or tv, it is pahl-sohn. Has Sammy accepted that pronunciation, I wonder? Alaney2k (talk)

I realize this is an old discussion, but the Swedish pronunciation would be more akin to Paulsson than Poolson (which indicates a long o). I'm quite sure though, that the Englishification of Euro hockeyplayers in broadcast media is widely accepted by the players, in which case I'm certain that Sammy has accepted Pahlsson, where the å is pronounced a.Dgothe (talk) 12:11, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

NHL wrongisms

So it seems the NHL has two things wrong, his pronunciation and his birthplace. These errors should be noted in some way on the page. Otherwise, errant eds (like me sometimes :-)) will keep changing it, at the least. Alaney2k (talk) 15:04, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

(That's probably not a NPOV.) Then put a 'reliable source' cite for the birthplace. Do we have one? Otherwise, and I say, to be useful to the readers too, we should 'note' something. Orphaned references in Samuel Påhlsson

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Samuel Påhlsson's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
