The last sentence in the article states: It continued to operate until 1656, when the mission and town were evidently destroyed by the Spanish as a result of the Timucua Rebellion. I do not have access right now to the cited sources, but I do have reliable sources that state that the Timucua Rebellion, which was in 1656, did not extend beyond the Timucua and Yustaga provinces, far from Ibi.
