This page seems to be heavily vandalized by IP addresses, so, I request for semi-protection of this article. Thank you.--TagaSanPedroAko (talk) 08:46, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for your concern, TagaSanPedroAko. Is semi-protection the reason why editing Notable People in Journalism doesn't get through? This is relation to another active discussion I began titled,"More Notable People in Journalism." Wikipedia people welcomed me for being a new editor here and apologized for approval delays, but there's a part of me that says something like a genuine interest to be of help in editing this particular page needs a lot of patience. More notable people in journalism
editJournalists inform and educate. It's quite unreal their was only one journalist listed. Remember that San Pedro is very near Metro Manila, where trimedia outfits are located. Secondly, news and views about San Pedro and its officials and residents have been and still are plenty. That one journalist listed here is dead but town and later city news are easily searchable and, using common sense, it's impossible that he was the only one who made the cut. I prefer that one Rene Alviar be included in the list as this San Pedro-based journalist's career spanned four decades and, thank God, he's still alive. Dcalviar2 (talk) 00:24, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
- Hi @Dcalviar2: Thanks for your efforts to improve WP. Please read WP:NLIST, WP:SOURCELIST, and WP:JOURNALIST. We normally don't include people in notability lists if they don't have an article themselves. If Alviar is so important, it should be too hard to find reliable tertiary sources for a comprehensive article. As a new editor, I also suggest to look at WP:Introduction to learn how to edit and write articles. Regards, -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 14:11, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
