Merge Santa Clara Depot here

edit

Can anybody give me a reason why the Santa Clara Depot shouldn't be merged into this one? ----DanTD (talk) 04:32, 29 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Since nobody has objected, or commented at all on this, the merger starts now. ----DanTD (talk) 15:00, 21 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Santa Clara Station (California). Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. Requested move 4 May 2022

edit
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: move the page to Santa Clara Transit Center at this time, per the discussion below. Please note that in general it is better not to alter the proposed target during open discussion because this can make it more difficult to interpret earlier responses. Santa Clara station (California)Santa Clara Transit Center – There are 2 other stations which the current name could refer to (Santa Clara – Great America station and Santa Clara station (VTA). Although this station is also served by 2 other systems (ACE and Amtrak), both of these also stop at the Great America station. Animal lover 666 (talk) 21:15, 4 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose: This station is clearly the primary topic, and Santa Clara–Great America is already naturally disambiguated. Changing the parenthetical to one of the three (soon to be four) services that stop at this station isn't an improvement. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 21:37, 4 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Support move, don't care what the end target is, and make this a disambiguation page. Claiming as the editor above said that this is the primary topic fails to account for the fact that it uses an ambiguous name which will obviously receive the entries from the users who think they're landing on the correct location. Additionally, this isn't a primary topic as Santa Clara station is the base name. What we are dealing with is an incomplete disambiguation which has a higher bar, and even with the normal primary topic bar, having less than 3x the amount of the other two is a very low claim to primary. • Strong Support Per reasoning above. This is highly ambitious given VTA’s Santa Clara station is nearby (and somewhat confusingly in SJ, though the Santa Clara in reference there is the street not the city). Adding (Caltrain) will be the best disambiguator. Cristiano Tomás (talk) 22:50, 4 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Support Move, Oppose Proposed Name — Considering this station is also served by ACE, Amtrak, VTA buses, and eventually BART trains… calling it a Caltrain station is a misnomer. VTA and Amtrak signage call this facility the “Santa Clara Transit Center.” That would seem to be an acceptable alternative name. RickyCourtney (talk) 01:03, 5 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
