MMA fighter?

edit

Did he just train as a mma fighter or what? He's not on sherdog.com.Just wondering if we should add something more to that piece of info.(MgTurtle (talk) 00:52, 21 July 2008 (UTC))Reply

We don't know. The only info we have on his MMA stuff is from this interview. ♥NiciVampireHeart01:14, 21 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
He was not an MMA fighter. His real name "Anthony Carelli" is not listed on any MMA records. He might have trained in an MMA gym, and competed in shoot-style wrestling, but he did not compete professionally as an MMA fighter. I'm sure of it. Although, I did see his promo video as Brosi in OVW and he had legit judo skills. 89.101.53.17 (talk) 21:18, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Santino Marellais is a judo black belt with my Judo Club - Shin Bu Kan Judo Club, which is located Mississauga, Ontario. He is a skill judoka with many tourament wins. E.g.

Before Wrestling

Although it is true that he hails from New York, Carelli actually comes from the small town of Penetanguishene, Ontario, Canada which is located two hours north of Toronto.[citation needed] Carelli has practiced Judo at Shin Bu Kan, competitively since his youth, winning several tournaments. In 1994 he captured the Canadian Men's Under-21 Championship. He also wrestled for Concordia University in Montreal taking fifth in the nation and rookie of the year in 1994.[citation needed] He also had been an MMA fighter in Japan for several years before signing a WWE developmental contract in 2006. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.210.132.6 (talk) 19:38, 11 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

2nd IC belt not 100% verified

edit

This will become fully clear in about 12 hours from now, but it's not actually completely clear that Santino wins the IC belt in the SummerSlam match. The Marella/Phoenix team won both belts, but it's only been assumed that he gets the IC belt and she gets the Women's belt. WWE.com hasn't listed either of them yet, they announced them as "the winners and new champions", and they walked out with him physically holding both. They may twist the program so that Phoenix claims she wants the IC belt. Should we wait until tonight to actually list him as the IC champ? --LennonsDad (talk) 13:41, 18 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Manager

edit

Beth Pheonix is not his manager. Somebody edit that. Poloniculmov (talk) 13:43, 28 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think if Beth is listed as his manager, he should be listed as hers under "Wrestlers managed" because Santino accompanies Beth ringside more than she accompanies him mostly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.114.231 (talk) 18:37, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Rumble Record

edit

JR seemed to imply during the 2009 Royal Rumble match that Marella had broken Warlord's record for shortest time in the rumble by stating 'Santino just got in the history books, but not the way he wanted'. This should be added to his list of accomplishments, even if it's not a flattering one. 24.128.53.252 (talk) 05:12, 26 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unibrow

edit

Well, the most obvious thing in the world is that Santina and Santino are the same people, but I would like to point out that Santian does NOT have a unibrow... And, Santino Does. Altenhofen

Some people speculate they are the same person, but there's no proof. 98.220.43.195 (talk) 05:23, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
You would have to be a blind retard to not know Santino is Santina. The Unibrow is fake anyway.--WillC 05:43, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Do you work for WWE? Do you have an inside scoop and positive proof they are the same person? If not, we must assume they are separate people until something to the contrary is revealed. 98.220.43.195 (talk) 05:55, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
No we don't have to wait. We use Common Sense in this situation. You can see that Santina is not an actual woman and that WWE are using a storyline in which Santino has dressed up as a woman. Including the tape from last week in which Santino read poem to Santina and the video was pre-taped making it seem as if she isn't real. WWE are using this as a comedy storyline so a source isn't needed. Including multiple web sites stating that Santino is in drag. Arguing this fact is completely preposterous. It is like saying Rey Mysterio is really a 12 year old under a mask but the one who took his mask off in WCW was an impostor.--WillC 06:23, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
The source in the article for WrestleMania XXV (i.e. this one) also states that Santina is actually Santino, so stop removing sourced information. ♥NiciVampireHeart06:28, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
This "source" is not WWE. It is an article writer making assumptions, just as you two are. 98.220.43.195 (talk) 06:48, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

<--It doesn't have to be WWE. It has to be a reliable source, which it is. ♥NiciVampireHeart06:57, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Then use common sense and compare an image of Santina to one of Santino and you can tell that they are the same person. WWE aren't even trying to pass Santina off as a legit twin. You can see that with the storyline and the fact that WWE write Santina as "Santina" Marella. Plus they do not have a profile for such wrestler. This is like arguing if January is the first month of the year. Would we need such a source for such claim? No.--WillC 07:15, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
It is obvious that santina is a dude, and santino; but how do you know its a fake unibrow? Altenhofen 23:39, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

New article for Santina

edit

I think an article needs to be written about Santino's Marella's twin sister, Santina. 98.220.43.195 (talk) 05:23, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I thought Kayfabe was dead. Apparently not. Sheesh. It's the same freaking person. VonBlade (talk) 17:38, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just forget it--Senkris (talk) 17:56, 19 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
It was just proven on Raw Monday night that Santino and Santina are two different people. Did you see the backstage segment with Donald Trump? You people saying they are the same person are looking pretty foolish now, huh? 98.220.43.195 (talk) 08:06, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
All this has proven is that marks still exist. Bmg916Speak 16:20, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
I guess you didn't see the show. On a LIVE broadcast, Santino showed up at Trump's door backstage less than two seconds after Santina. No one can changes clothes, remove a wig and makeup, etc. that fast, unless you're Superman. 98.220.43.195 (talk) 18:46, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Who says that segment was live? Such a thing called as broadcast delay exist. Editing can do remarkable things, like make a non-existent robot seem real. Plus they do this all the time during live broadcast. Like last week with Trump being announced as the new owner of Raw. He was not via a satellite because they never are, it costs way too much.--WillC 18:56, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Boy, you people will go to any extraordinary lengths to prove the non-existence of Santina Marella, won't you? Ever heard of Occham's Razor? Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one. 98.220.43.195 (talk) 20:52, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
You ever heard of WP:Troll? WWE clearly show that Santina is not a real person. An example of this would be the segment where Santino reads a poem to Santina, who is supposed to be via satellite. The feed of Santina has been taped and making it clear this is all a joke and Santina is Santino in drag. Now just quit trying to push the idea that Santina is real because if you believe that "she" is, then you are very dumb.--WillC 21:16, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
WWE has gone to great lengths to purposely obfuscate Santina's true identity. Whether or not it can be proven that video trickery was employed to put both Santino and Santina in the same room at the same time (as was the case with Mr. McMahon's "death" a couple of years ago), they seem to be distinct "kayfabe" characters at this point. I don't think that Santina warrants a separate article (yet), but I do think that the strange connection between Santino and his twin sister is a legitimate topic of discussion, perhaps more so than ever after Monday night's bizarre episode. Uncle Dick (talk) 23:38, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
I agree that Santina could have a separate article. Santina could one day be in the WWE Hall of Fame, whereas Santino is very unlikely to receive that honor. --Jacknstock (talk) 13:31, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
I too support a new article for Santina Marella. As it has been stated numerous times already, on the June 22nd edition of a LIVE, 3-HOUR RAW featuring Donald Trump, he likened his forthcoming action to Santina as something he did to Miss California...firing her, at which point the camera zoomed right in about .1 seconds and showed Santino standing there, even SAYING, "I kept trying to tell everyone she's-a my real twin-a sister, but-a-nobody listens to me." If Santino can pull of that double-cross, pun intended then he deserves an Oscar, and that segment of that RAW was obviously NOT edited. Now there were some parts that may have been, although, it would be rather gay and obvious for a show that night which featured NO COMMERCIALS FOR THE ENTIRE 2 HOURS, 10 MINUTES, eh, "WillC" (if indeed you are not just posting from your "twin brother's account"?98.209.67.70 (talk) 18:25, 3 July 2009 (UTC) Babyiluvu223 (talk) he was born in 1979 not 1974 (UTC)Reply

Miss WrestleMania Title

edit

I've been trying to keep Santino's record up-to-date regarding the "Miss WrestleMania" Title and everytime I change the details on him being Miss WrestleMania (which he has been twice and STILL REIGNING) someone edits it out and also in the Championships and Accomplishments section, I change the record for Miss WrestleMania to "2 times, current" but it is always edited to just "2 times." It should be noted that even though Santina has been 'fired' WWE has never officially announced the Miss WrestleMania Title as inactive so it is only logical that Santino is still slated as the current Miss WrestleMania. What do you all think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.59.3.5 (talk) 00:51, 2 September 2009 (UTC) 190.59.22.85 (talk) 23:51, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

The Santina gimmick has been dropped, so so has the title. If Marella came to the ring wearing the outfit, than it stays. but he no longer uses the Santina gimmick, and hes a man, so Miss Wrestlemania is now defunct —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.17.130.13 (talk) 02:39, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry but unless WWE says that the title is defunct will I accept that the title is not active. I would have accepted the title as "vacant" but still active but as the holder of the title (Santino Marella) is not fired, then he still holds the prestigious title of Miss WrestleMania.190.59.28.140 (talk) 19:34, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

It wasn't even a real title, just a storyline. The storyline has been dropped. Unless you see santino with the actual title, than you can keep it on —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.17.130.13 (talk) 22:13, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

If it wasn't a real title then why was Vickie Guerrero allowed to win it? Why was it defended at PPVs? You make no sense in the fact that it was a confirmed prestigious title that WWE recognized and there is no way that a title could be a storyline? A storyline is something that creative makes up and the wrestlers act it out for entertainment while a title is something that is defended and won by other wrestlers. Out of those two definitions, the prestigious "Miss WrestleMania" title falls under TITLE and NOT STORYLINE. Further more, Santino won the championship as "Santina" but his "Santina" character was fired not Santino which means that he still holds the championship since Donald Trump only fired "Santina" and not retire the "Miss WrestleMania" championship which means that it is still active since WWE has not announced it being defunct and retired AND the wrestler who last held the championship is still wrestling and active in the company.190.59.9.44 (talk) 21:28, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Still. Just think. It's common sense. SantinO is a man. You don't see him with the title. Also, It WAS part of a storyline, But once Santina was fired, BOOM! The title disappeared. GONE! DONE! Plus, it's not even recognized by the WWE as an actual title. Yeah, Vickie had it, but like I said, it was a feud. The title has not been mentioned or seen since santina was fired..... So.... Yeah. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.17.130.13 (talk) 23:34, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Until WWE makes an OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT about the title no longer existing, Wikipedia cannot just accept that it has been dropped. Wikipedia doesn't operate with people's own opinions or what they think is right, Wikipedia demands for OFFICIAL and CONFIRMED reports to be placed on here. The prestigious Miss WrestleMania title hasn't been announced defunct, retired, suspended or anything of that sort, it just hasn't been mentioned. Therefore, it should still be considered that Santino Marella (the person who acted as Santina) is still the champion as "Santina" was fired but the actor for Santina was not fired hence the title is still on him since Donald Trump didn't cancel the title from existence. In the end, your argument doesn't hold it's own for the simple fact that you stated which is WWE has not mentioned anything about it and that means it has not been confirmed as retired/vacant/suspended/defunct. Therefore, Santino Marella still holds the Miss WrestleMania championship.190.59.15.82 (talk) 23:44, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

If by technicalities it stays fine but The line is Drawn at calling it a Prestigious Title becuase it has NOT been around long enough nor been held by enough people to yet be considered Prestigious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.7.201.91 (talk) 18:20, 22 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

It was not a real title if it was it would be on WWE.com's champinships and accomplishments list. Therefor it was a gimmick and not a real title. Even if you consider it a title it has still been dropped. It has not been mentioned since "Santina" regained it and another wrestlemania has passed by with no new tournament and so it needs to be listed as inactive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.7.201.91 (talk) 05:18, 10 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia operates not by YOUR rules but by THEIR rules. Wikipedia demands that you give evidence that the Miss WrestleMania crown was never a "real" title, even if it was just a gimmick it still was defended, lost and won... just like the Million Dollar Championship. But UNLIKE the Million Dollar Championship, the Miss WrestleMania title was NEVER abandoned on WWE television. Therefore, Santino (the actor for Santina) still holds the prestigious MIss WrestleMania crown.190.59.20.78 (talk) 05:02, 22 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Non Wikipedia Hyperlink In Article

edit

In the first paragraph of Santino's page, the word classes in the first sentence has a hyperlink to some sort of gaming website. It is not a standard Wiki link to another page and I have never seen it before in any articles. It appears to be a form of advertising and from my understanding that is against Wiki policy. I tried to remove it and replace the wording but it did not take and the link is still there. It is highlighted by a double underlined green line. If someone can either fix it or explain why it is allowed that would be helpful, because as I said before, I do not think that it belongs in the article. When is his daughter (Bianca Carell) whom wrestles in NXT as Arianna Grace going get her own article? Surely there is enough information about her to be able to give her own one rather having her keep being linked to her father's article especially as they are in different promotions though that not to say that she can't show in TNA and anwser Jordynne Grace's open challenge considering the current NXT and TNA crossover story thing going on at moment.- 2A02:C7C:53C1:E00:6C3B:2B24:6D94:16EB (talk) 11:23, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
