Re-added the Category:Flora of Newfoundland and Labrador; this is the provincial flower of the province so it should at least show up in the associated category page.Vulcan's Forge (talk) 02:20, 19 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Is the article's main photo correct? Could someone confirm? I am a bit sceptical.--Spike the Dingo (talk) 01:16, 10 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

The image is of the correct species. The location data is presented on the image description page, so that's likely correct unless the uploader lies. Any specific reason for your skepticism? Did you notice something I haven't? Rkitko (talk) 01:44, 10 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok. The flower is at a funny angle. Thank you. --Spike the Dingo (talk) 05:25, 10 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ref for Nitrogen Uptake

edit

Should anyone care to expand this article at some point, here is a paper about nitrogen uptake in this species: http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0006164 DJLayton4 (talk) 18:22, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

A few suggestions

edit

Can someone say something about how big it gets and how fast it grows. Also, there's nothing about its flowers or reproduction. Nothing covers its soil, sun, and water requirements. Perhaps Spike the Dingo, didn't like the main picture because the plant looks like it is in an environment more suited to a cactus or succulent. (It certainly doesn't look boggy to me.) This seems to be a credible and informative source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gatorgirl7563 (talkcontribs) 12:59, 21 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, Barry Rice's FAQ is a fine source of info. Be bold and edit the article yourself, adding sources as you go along. Let me know if you have any questions or run into any trouble. I don't have the time right now to dedicate myself to expansion of this article. One note, though, is that you should avoid how-to guide-like information on soil, sun, and water requirements. It's fine to include descriptive info on cultivation, but Wikipedia is not a how-to guide. Cheers, Rkitko (talk) 14:32, 21 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Safyrr: This edit (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sarracenia_purpurea&diff=1009798949&oldid=1004695988) adding the "Floral Emblems of Canada" is interesting and does belong here but... it's not made in the usual way. See the "e" in the corner there? You're supposed to put all that stuff in there, so it's a separate navbox. So then you can put that into this page and however many others. Like Template:Palm oil. @Invasive Spices:, okay, I've copy-pasted the text into the "e" section. Thank you for explaining this to me~ Safyrr (talk) 23:33, 31 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
