Wrong article

edit

Why was this article changed to the International Sai Seva Trust? That is something completely different and unconnected to the Sathya Sai Organization. This should be reverted and a new article created for that entity if deemed appropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 175.37.114.18 (talk) 00:57, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

There has been at attempt by some forces inimical to the Sri Sathya Sai International Organization to discredit it and apportion all its activities from decades into other entities. 49.205.35.134 (talk) 17:54, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

see [[1]]. Sathya Sai Organisation is the wrong spelling. I think that the article Beliefs and practices in the Sathya Sai Baba movement should not be merged because there are quite a lot of followers/sympathizers who are not affiliated with the org. In addition some followers have beliefs at variance with SSB's claims or do accept all his claims. Andries 13:25, 21 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

You're right Kkrystian 18:42 21 October 2006 (UTC+1)

I do not think that it is okay to copy information about demographics from the article Sathya Sai Baba movement, because not all people in the SSB movement are part of the organization as I have stated several times before. Andries 21:03, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Merge with Sathya Sai Baba movement

At the moment this article is redundant because everything that is stated in this article is also stated in the article Sathya Sai Baba movement. Reducing redundancy increases maintainability and is in correspondence with the recommendation made at the first arbitration case regarding Sathya Sai Baba. See Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Sathya_Sai_Baba/Proposed_decision#Loss_of_focus_2. (In this case I agree with the arbcom) . Andries 15:12, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

We are from Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, the official Sathya Sai Organization mentioned on Wikipedia. We would like to correct the Page Title from 'Sathya Sai Organization' to 'Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust' as the former never existed/doesn't exist. The right name / title / reference should be 'Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust'. Request the same to be updated.

Venkatant (talk) 07:05, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is a wrong generalization to say that the Sri Sathya Sai International Organization never existed. There are sections of people who wish it never existed. :) 49.205.35.134 (talk) 17:56, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Bonadea The changes are already requested. Without checking, reverting to old versions do not help users find right information on Wikipedia. This page contains outdated information.

Seven edit requests partially implemented.
  • Per the information on the organisation's website, "International Sai Seva Trust" has been changed to "Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust". All mentions of "International Sai Seva Trust" were inserted in the article last year by a single-purpose account.
  • The name of the organisation itself in the opening sentencce and the infobox has been changed to "Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation".
  • Sri has not been added to Sathya Sai Baba's name, in accordance with MOS:HONORIFIC.
  • The link to the official website has been changed to sathyasai.org. It has not been changed to srisathyasai.org, which is the website of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, and which is linked from sathyasai.org.
  • The list of projects has been rewritten in prose form, and most entries have been removed; there are no secondary sources, and the point of this article is to give a general overview, not to report on the organisation's structure and activities in detail. --bonadea contributions talk 11:15, 10 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@bonadea The status on Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust website is wrong in wikipedia. The right link is https://www.srisathyasai.org/ . Have opened wrong article section below. Sathyasai.org has nothing to do with Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust and Prasanthi Nilayam. The Hospitals, schools etc are run by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. Please correct the misinformation [1] the article by the associated press clearly mentions "As the young guru attracted followers, his hometown, Puttaparthi, grew from a sleepy village into a vibrant town with a sprawling ashram, built in 1950, as well as a large hospital, a university and schools run by his Sathya Sai Central Trust, set up in 1972 with donations. The trust, estimated to be worth at least $8.9 billion, also established spiritual centers in the Indian cities of Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai. In addition, it built another hospital in Bangalore, India, where Sai Baba had a summer home, and financed water supply projects in several of the country’s southern states." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Venkatant (talkcontribs) 11:21, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wrong Article

edit

The Article is inaccurate and reflects wrong information. Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust is the central body governing all Sai Organisations. SSSIO is not part of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. The right link of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust is https://www.srisathyasai.org/pages/sai-about-trust.html

Venkatant (talk) 06:55, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

The article does not say that SSSIO is part of SSSCT. I have now understood why you are so anxious for the article about SSSIO to be removed in favour of an article about SSSCT: apparently there is an inter-organisational quarrel, per https://www.sathyasai.org/announcements/sssio-not-part-of-sssgc . --bonadea contributions talk 07:14, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

@bonadea - This has nothing to do with Organisational change and we are not anxious. We (SSSCT) are trying to correct information in Wikipedia about Sri Sathya Sai Baba and Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. So far SSSCT never had a Team to look at Wikipedia. Now we do and hence these requests have been coming. Please do not associate us with quarrels and inaccurate assumptions. The article says The SSSIO is an umbrella organization which runs several institutes, trusts and associations. They include the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Radio Sai, Sri Sathya Sai Humanitarian Relief, Sri Sathya Sai University, and the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Science, which includes a super specialty hospital. This is not right. SSSIO is not an umbrella organisation of SSSCT. Sri Sathya Sai Central trust runs Sri Sathya Sai Insititue of Higher Learning, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini, Sri Sathya Sai Media Centre, Water projects and housing projects. Radio Sai is now renamed to Sri Sathya Sai Media Centre. Either the page be corrected or we will have to request for a new page for Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust as the information needs to be reflected.
What is surprising is why our requested edits are not happening in both the pages and links shared by us are discredited as internal links or unreliable sources even when Wikipedia refers to the sources as reliable while other internal organisation links are accepted?

What is surprising is why our requested edits are not happening It is not surprising at all – in fact, the edit requests placed by yourself have been dealt with a lot sooner than many other requests waiting at Category:Wikipedia_requested_edits, despite the fact that they are often difficult to read and understand, and despite the fact that you have been making a lot of requests seemlingly without first reading Wikipedia:Edit requests. Please keep in mind that a) Wikipedia editors are volunteers, donating their time and sometimes their money to edit Wikipedia, and nobody is ever required to edit a particular article, edit when they do not feel like doing so, or respond to a particular request; b) an edit request is just that, a request, and the volunteer who evaluates it cannot implement the request if it goes against Wikipedia policies; c) you have been placing multiple long and complex edit requests which requires a lot of time to understand, much less to evaluate; and d) almost none of the changes you propose is uncontroversial and/or has consensus in favour of implementing it. Has your account ever been used by more than one individual, since you keep using the pronoun "we"? --bonadea contributions talk 11:01, 13 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
