Spelling of the name dasa v das
editIt should be capitalized? But will it be Dasa or Das - I will check what is the most common spelling without diacritic marks. Wikidas© 17:59, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- I moved the page to Das. This is the way this individual signs his name. It is also right phonetically and I can not see any reason for lowercase. I also removed todo list and calmtalk, since it is a redundant template and page is stable now. Wikidas© 15:41, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- What verifiable evidence is there for how he signs his name? His web site and most other ISKCON references uses S. dasa G. Using capitalized forms is typically done by western publications that done understand or don't care about why dasa is lower case and the others capitalized. older ≠ wiser 02:33, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks Bkonrad. The spelling I was point to was his own website: http://www.sdgonline.org/images/signature.gif it can also be seen here http://www.sdgonline.org/. For non contentious moves it is a good evidence. Also all names are capitalized. Please let me know what you think to get to the consensus. Thanks. Wikidas© 08:06, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- Both of the examples do not capitalize das and so provide no basis for the move you performed. As for "das" vs. "dasa", most print versions (at least those with a clue) appear to use dasa, including SDG's own website. older ≠ wiser 01:42, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
