Saw short

The Saw (2003 film) is a good article with more than enough information to constitute its own article. I have added a cast section, a relation to Saw(2004) section, a soundtrack section, as well as others since the proposed merge. I have also cleaned up the overall article to make it even better. Country.

In my personal opinion, this could become too long for the infobox. As of right now it lists USA, UK, Australia. Personally, I don't understand why UK is there, I don't believe, besides being released there, it has much to do with the UK. I also think Canada should be there as they've all been filmed there. I think it should read: USA, CAN, AUS. Something like that. Does anyone else have any feelings on the matter? --HELLØ ŦHERE 02:43, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Game?

The Idea for this Movie

Do you have a source with any comparison? Or a source where a director, writer, producer, actor, or any crew member states that's where the idea came from? I don't think I've ever heard the creators make that comparison. From what I understand, according to the commentaries, James and Leigh came up with the idea based on dreams and newspaper articles. --HELLØ ŦHERE 20:08, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

origins

I've never seen a Saw movie begin-to-end, but I came to wikipedia looking for its origins and I couldn't find it anywhere. I believe this wiki is the proper place. Could anyone please add a section explaining how the franchise evolved?

Maybe first there came Saw 1 and then Saw 2 and 3 were already written... Or is it every Saw movie were made after checking the profit from the prior one?

I hear people telling me the story is so profound, and well connected. But is there a actual script behind all those 6 movies? At least some guide lines? Or is it just creativity of the new writers making it look good even thought nothing was predicted before?

From my understanding, according to the producers and creators, James and Leigh wrote it never thinking it would become a franchise. Darren had a story which Leigh and James heard was similar so they all adapted it to be the sequel and then Leigh and James wrote the third. Leigh wanted to stop writing them after that and just produce, to which Lions Gate found two other writers that Leigh helped and now they write the movies. That's from the commentaries and one other article. Not really enough to write a full section on. Most of that stuff is found in the "production" section of the film articles. Also, on a side note, I think you should totally watch them, the first five (at least) are good. --HELLØ ŦHERE 20:42, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
