Scania started selling buses in the UK with a joint-venture with Birmingham based bus builder MCW (Metro-Cammell Waymann) in 1969 with the Metro-Scania single decker, it was based on the CR111DH chassis, and sold in small numbers. In 1973 the two companies launched the Metropolitan double decker and sold 659 between 1973-78. However corrosion problems led these buses to have a short life in service. The distinguishing features are the assametric windscreen being deeper on the nearside window. It wasn't replaced until 1980/1 with the [1]BR112DH].
