Synonymy
editSchistotylus and Schistotylus purpuratus are accepted names at the Australian Plant Census but are listed as Plectorrhiza and Plectorrhiza purpurata respectively at Plants of the World Online. Since S. purpuratus is an Australian species, the names here should be retained. Gderrin (talk) 21:48, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
@Gderrin: Yes, I get your point. I will be more careful in future. Conan Wolff (talk) 22:06, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- The Australian Plant Census is sometimes slow to make changes, especially to orchid names. It is possible, even likely, that the APC will make the change to Plectorrhiza and P. purpurata in the near future. My understanding is that senior taxonomists at the ANBG meet from time to time to update species lists. POWO works differently. Gderrin (talk) 23:44, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
