Talk:Scholastic Achievement Test

Unless I am mistaken, the SAT is no longer officially known as the "Scholastic Achievement Test" but simply as the SAT; that is, SAT no longer officially stands for anything. Thus, if you examine, say, The Educational Testing Services web page or The College Board's page on the "new SAT", you won't find any mention of the "Scholastic Achievement Test". You'll see only "SAT this" and "SAT that".

In light of this, this page should probably be renamed. I'm not sure to what, however, as SAT is already a disambiguation page. Perhaps something like "SAT test", "SAT (test)", or "SAT college entrance exam".

It is as you say. Even worse, it was never officially called the "Scholastic Achievement Test" which is the name of this page. I will move this to SAT college entrance test and fix all the redirects. I'll also add some material on the name change, which comes down to the College Board backing even further away from any clear idea of what the test measures. Ortolan88 01:44 Nov 18, 2002 (UTC)
