My Grandmother always talks about SMSG as far as it being a completely different style of mathematics that my father and two aunts leared when they were in school. https://collections.briscoecenter.org/ indexes SMSG-related library holdings. It's a shame nobody has digitized the SMSG textbooks, which contained gems like "[proving theorems] is not a spectator sport"
