I blame the attitude of English people for this obesity crisis, until I finished high school, my mum and dad made me walk a mile to school, recently I met somebody at college whose mum had to drive him there even though he lives a few yards from home. thats what I call lazyness of the English people

It is a modern phenomenon restricted almost wholly to the UK. You only have to spend a little while looking at traffic data to see both how it is a modern phenomenon and to see how it doesnt happen - to any significant level - in any other developed countries. What a strange problem

In the US, we just put parking lots at the schools, and sometimes even a driveway path specifically for dropping off kids in the morning. Even when I was in grade school some 30 years ago the parking lots would be full at start of school day and end of school day and mostly empty inbetween. Which at my grade school, allowed them to double-up as our recess play areas. (I should know, I was dropped on it once and gashed my eyebrow open.) - Keith D. Tyler ¶ 09:42, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
