Confusion of Characters

edit

The article lists these two characters:

"Plainfield, Nebraska: Loie Royce ... lived, but her feet were frostbitten and had to be amputated."
"Mira Valley, Nebraska: Minnie Freeman safely led seventeen children from her schoolhouse to her home, one mile away."

However, the Page on Minnie Freeman says "Minnie lost her legs to frostbite". Is it possible that these two stories have been confused? Or did both teachers lose their feet and/or legs to frostbite?

I am the author of "The Children's Blizzard," a nonfiction book about this event that is mentioned in the article. I would like to add a link to my book's website: http://www.harpercollins.com/books/9780060520762/The_Childrens_Blizzard/index.aspx

In answer to query above, Lois Royce (spelling of first name varies by source) lost her legs to frost bite -- Minnie Freeman did not suffer any amputations. Thanks. David Laskin 71.112.231.72 19:13, 17 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article is still a stub because...

...there are no references. If references are added, this would instantly make it to Start, and with a slight amount of additional work, B class. Thegreatdr 18:24, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's got 7 references now. What can be done to bump it up to C class? Kevin (talk) 01:58, 29 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

hevy

edit

I have asked the editor who changed my edit to undo his or her edit. The quotation had the word "heavy" misspelled as "hevy," which is why the quotation had the "[sic]" in it; otherwise the sic is meaningless. Kdammers (talk) 02:49, 25 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
