The Team isn't defunct. In Germany, Hockey Teams don't play in a league as a "Franchise" like in North America. So, the Wild Wings don't play in the DEL (Deutsche Eishockey Liga) any more, but they still play in the 2. Bundesliga, the "Top Level Minor League" in Germany, where they was runner-up in 2009-10 and 2010-11. Watch my german article about the Team. The Team was also founded in 1904 (as Schwenninger ERC) and operat since 1904.
