"Load-bearing"?
editDoesn't compute... the "bearing" part would correspond to something like Träger. This thing was not build to bear loads but to exert them. "Heavy load-exerting body" or "Heavy loading body" would be closer. Dysmorodrepanis (talk) 13:49, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, you're right. I think I put up that translation, and don't remember why. I might've seen it somewhere, or just made a mistake. Fixed now. --Delirium (talk) 01:44, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Just came here to say this, why has it been reverted to the decidedly faulty translation? Did someone read a bad german translation off the thing itself? MikeTango (talk) 14:16, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- The official website uses “The Heavy Load-Bearing Body”) [1]. That’s arguably more accurate, as well, as the objective was to test the material’s ability to bear a load. It might even make sense to move the page. K. Oblique 11:58, 19 August 2023 (UTC)

Why Has the SBK Been Built?
editSo has the SBK been built to investigate the possibility of building an enormous Arc de Triumph, as claimed in the first part of the article, or of building the Volkshalle itself, as mentioned in the latter? It's a bit inconsistent... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.152.176.184 (talk) 18:41, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
