Problem with names
editThe problem in writing this article is to decide what the name of the common garden species should be. It has variously been called C. luciliae, C. forbesii and C. siehei. Further, some sources claim that C. forbesii and C. siehei are the same species.
In editing this page, I have assumed that the 2005 RHS Bulletin referenced in the article is correct, i.e. that there are three distinct species, and that the common, freely seeding garden species is C. siehei.
Future research may show this to be wrong!
