Good constructive work. I hope to see more of it. Some feedback
The lead can be fleshed out a little more. Essentially, it should be able to be read as a stand alone summary of the article. (see WP:LEAD). At the very least it should contain some information about why this individual is notable. (What sets him apart from other academics).
Since references are formatted as superscript footnotes there is no need to separate them with interpunction. (Some editors do like to separate them with spaces)
Since this is an article about a living person, it is essential that all biographical statements are referenced. If no secondary source can be found, at least cite the persons web site as a source. (That source should be at least free of libel.)
