Another blog related made up word. Shouldn't we wait until people start using it with some frequency before trying to enter it into wikipedia. Seems more like a campaign to promote this word than anything ... Anonymous

OpenGL

Anybody know of a screencasting program that will record OpenGL other than FRAPS? FRAPS doesn't have the nice audio-recording capibilities of Camtasia and Captivate ... though it will record sound. But Camtasia and Captivate have nice features for countering the adverse effects of having a lousy/cheap mike, while with FRAPS you can hear every crackle and high-pitched hum. --Nerd42 02:23, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

DemoRecorder (Commercial program for Linux) can record OpenGL apps. At least the OpenGL-demo "glxgears" can be recorded with it. --ChristianLinhart 22:20, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

I don't know if I'm missing something here, but I've used Demo Builder to make a Screencast of an OpenGL application that was OK. I didn't know OpenGL was an issue. I didn't use sound - maybe that's the problem, but Demo Builder is also supposed to be able to do this. Argey 15:29, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

This is an area in dire need of standardization. Does anyone have a good overview of applicable standards and their actual proliferation?

I'm upset that the list of screencasting software was removed. That was *massively* useful. The rest of the article, by comparison, is not.

I added a bunch of additional resources & put some pricing back. Though I agree Wikipedia is not a market place, when evaluating software options & reviews... Price is a very important consideration, also it's a pita to track down approximate vendor pricing. If this list gets too long, it could be reformatted & moved to another page like List_of_video_editing_software and Comparison_of_video_editing_software which has similar pricing and review information. I am not affiliated with any of these companies, but do have an interest in FOSS Screen Capture software and added corresponding sections. I'm rather new to editing Wikimedia, if this breaks any rules or style feel free to correct it & kindly point me in the right direction. -HTH Awildman 18:11, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry for the self-promotion, I'm learning as I go as to what is acceptable. Is it appropriate to add back the links I'd made for ScreenCastsOnline (http://screencastsonline.com/sco/) and MyScreenCast (http://myscreencast.com/forums/), as examples of CBT using screencasting? SentryWorks Abra

An anonymous user keeps adding a POV internal link for SentryWorks Abra in the "see also" section. I've warned the user several times, but it doesn't seem to be working. Am I right in this? Does anyone else have strong feelings either way? Wyatt Riot 16:43, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Origin of the term Screencast

I recently deleted a part of the lead section about the origin of the term screencast. Two sources were given; both were newsgroup posts. As you know newsgroup posts are not reliable sources. However, before deleting the paragraph, I hesitated for a moment: The only thing that I needed to verify was the fact that the term screencast was used in the conversation. If it was, these sources would have been enough: Google a reputable company that is unlikely to tamper with the dates and contents of a discussion that it hosts. However, not even once the word "screencast" was used in the discussion. Hence, the sources are invalid and so the paragraph went. Fleet Command (talk) 20:23, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Casting between devices
