The name Titan can also be short for Sebastian. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.151.3.229 (talk) 23:27, 16 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Baschi

edit

The article claims that "Baschi" was a German variant of the name Sebastian. Being German, I've never heard this variant before. According to this site it's merely used in some regional dialects. Definitely not an all-German phenomenon. "Basti", however, which is listed as an English variant, is very common in Germany too. Could anybody please change this? 79.207.187.103 (talk) 00:12, 15 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

No mention of San Sebastian in Spain? It's in Basque country, there's a film festival. It should be significant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.48.211.120 (talk) 19:32, 13 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

This is an anthroponymy article. The disambiguation page is at Sebastian. A separate San Sebastian disambiguation page also exists, which I just linked to via Sebastian's see also section. —Xezbeth (talk) 11:44, 15 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Pronunciation

edit

In the UK, Sebastian's 1st vowel is usually a schwa and rarely 'i'. I'm reluctant to edit the article's phonetic section, as a) I'm not a professional linguist and b) I've never come across any Wikipedia article before with incorrect / omitted IPA definitions for the UK, so I'm throwing this out there for comment!
