editI've removed the deletion tag - the article doesn't seem to be a valid candidate for speedy deletion.
The relevant part of the criteria would be:
- An article about a real person ... that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant. This is distinct from verifiability and reliability of sources, and is a lower standard than notability. ... The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance.
I'm not saying the subject is notable by our standards, but the article definitely seems to make a claim of "significance or importance" (national ranking, first-class racing)... Shimgray | talk | 23:45, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
