Criminal charges dropped
editI removed all the material about criminal charges from this page now that the charges have been dropped. This removal is not, in my view, required by any policy (including WP:BLP), but I think it a sensible thing to do to protect this young man's reputation. Posting here in case anyone disagrees or has any comments. --Mkativerata (talk) 21:35, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- I think it should stay - while i understand that it would protect his reputation (and inevitable vandalism of this page) the incident did affect his career - a 3 and half month ban from Sydney FC and the young Socceroos. It should stay - however make it clear that the charges have been dropped by the DPP and that he has moved on from the incident. Nath1991 (talk) 01:31, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- One alternative I was thinking of is instead of a separate section in bright lights, have a mere sentence or two that briefly mentions he was charged with a criminal offence that caused him to be suspended from football for a period of time, and that the charges were later dropped? I agree that the charges causing the suspension affects his footballing career so perhaps that softer form of inclusion might be appropriate? --Mkativerata (talk) 01:35, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- If it was a minor criminal charge i think a couple of sentances would be appropiate, however since this is a major criminal charge, and it did affect his career in a large and significant way, it should have it's own section. Nath1991 (talk) 01:53, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
