Consolidation
editI plan to consolidate SIEM and SIM into this article, and then suggest that they redirect here. It seem to me that the cluster of different functionalities involved should be discussed in one place. Specific products will have a mix of these functions, so overlap and hybrids are always going to exist, and whether a specific product is described by a vendor as a SEM, SIM or SIEM may be more marketing than anything else, and may in fact change from version to version. Discussion of the terminology is also best done in one place where a workable compromise can be reached, rather than 3 or 4 articles all spinning it differently. Although it could be argued that SIEM should be the 'master article', I think "Security event manager" is clearer for the non specialist. Snori (talk) 18:37, 19 January 2016 (UTC)
