Page Name
editHello @Riquix: @Azure Dave:,I have been giving some thoughts to the name of the page and talked it over with Azure Dave another Wiki editor. The SRF Lake Shrine on Wikipedia is called Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine. I think it is best to put SRF first. What do you think about Self-Realization Fellowship Encinitas Retreat and Meditation Gardens? The focus should be on the public part of the area - meditation gardens and retreat. Azure Dave thought the Hermitage could be mentioned in the body of the page. I also think the Temple and Store could also link from this page.
- OR Self-Realization Fellowship Encinitas Meditation Gardens?
What are your thoughts, both of you? Red Rose 13 (talk) 23:18, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
Either of your suggested names seems fine and appropriate to me. The Retreat generally is manned, i.e., you can go to the office and speak with someone, and the Meditation Gardens are open to the Public. I also like your idea of links to the Temple and Store and a subsection regarding the Hermitage. Thanks! Azure Dave (talk) 00:18, 9 February 2022 (UTC
- Other: Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine
I find it better: Self-Realization Fellowship Encinitas Gardens Ther are two things: "Self-Realization Fellowship Encinitas Temple" and "Meditation Gardens" Google search
If we agree, I can make the change. Or we can contact SRF. --Riquix (talk) 09:04, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- I looked at it again best I would find it that way it is.--Riquix (talk) 09:18, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- I am checking with the Self Realization Fellowship public relations department to see what they think is best. I find it is best to check with the organization I am editing about. Red Rose 13 (talk) 22:06, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- Also regarding the Daya Mata page, the location of her death is written in the article itself.Red Rose 13 (talk) 22:06, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- More importantly, however, there are some SRF articles marked with the template are to be changed "This article may contain excessive or inappropriate references to self-published sources." and not correct References Tags.--Riquix (talk) 06:19, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
- Hi there I noticed you deleted a number of things from the Chidananda page. This page is brand new. If you think there is a reference missing the best thing to do is add a citation needed template at the end of the sentence, changing the date to the day you inserted it. [citation needed] This gives editors time to find the source. I also noticed you deleted a sentence with no explanation. Same thing first put the sentence back in and then add the citation needed template. In order to see the template you will need to click edit and scroll down here to copy and paste the templateRed Rose 13 (talk) 07:51, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
- I believe you not noticed that I have postponed item content and not deleted. Normally, if you insert content, they must a have good reference.--Riquix (talk) 09:48, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
- Yes I just noticed that you moved the two sentences to another location instead of deleting them.Red Rose 13 (talk) 15:35, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
- Please insert the reference for the admiral. Best only text, where it is occupied. Of course, a book is also possible. On the fast I found nothing on the internet.--Riquix (talk) 16:03, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

Azure Dave plans on putting the reference on the Chidananda page. Excellent find! I just heard back from the public relations representative for SRF and she said this one is the best: Self-Realization Fellowship Encinitas Retreat, Hermitage and Meditation Gardens. Would you be able to change the name for this page? Please notice the hyphen between Self-Realization. Thank you! Red Rose 13 (talk) 23:32, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
- First of all, I'm not your assistant anymore, after you consciously disclaimed statements from SRF, please do not ping myself with personal questions. That Yoganandas way is not Hinduism, despite extensive discussion, as so often https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Brother_Chidananda --Riquix (talk) 08:01, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
- Hello Riquix, sorry I thought you mentioned above that you wanted to do the changing of the name of the page and suggested we contact Self=Realization Fellowship about the name. I thought you knew how to do it. I don't but I have no problem figuring it out. I see us as a team working on the pages. In regards to Hinduism on the Chidananda page in general it is not necessary to put in every category in an info box. Azure David created the page and is thinking of contacting the public relations about it. In the meantime we will keep it off the page. Things take time and we should all assume good faith. [1]
- I don't know what you are referring to in regards to pinging with personal questions?? I only recall pinging you once at the beginning of this page to draw your attention to the discussion.Red Rose 13 (talk) 17:10, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
Comma
edit- Self-Realization Fellowship Encinitas Retreat, Hermitage, and Meditation Gardens
I think the comma before and is not quite right (and replaces it). I change it. https://www.grammarly.com/blog/comma-before-and/ --Riquix (talk) 12:08, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
- SRF write it without comma. https://yogananda.org/locations/encinitas-hermitage-retreat-gardens --Riquix (talk) 12:21, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
Document with Wikipedia guidelines
editIf you are wanting to make a change on a page, you need to give the actual guideline to back up your claim. Please do so.Red Rose 13 (talk) 15:46, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
- You want to have this promotion Style in it. And you have not specified not yourself (actual guideline). I do not want to spend with you big part of my time in discussions.--Riquix (talk) 16:38, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
- I would prefer not to be in discussions constantly either. The word surprise is in chapter 48 in the Autobiography of a Yogi in regards to the gift of the Encinitas Hermitage. What is the word surprise promoting? It doesn't make any sense.Red Rose 13 (talk) 01:21, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is a lexicon and no one to one image. You should write articles neutral, that's one of the basic rules. It is not all that you do not want to write an author in the article. You are a follower of PY me too, but I think it does not easy for you to write neutral.--Riquix (talk) 06:40, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry but you don't really know my spiritual path or even if I am on one. You are just assuming. Secondly I am totally aware of POV writing. The verb surprise has nothing to do with my point of view nor was I there when he was presented the hermitage back in 1935. It is listed in the resource and in the Autobiography of a Yogi. It is not my personal point of view but a fact. It is well known that he was surprised. If you wanted to you could re-write that he was surprised in a different way. Other ways to say it are: To cause to feel wonder, astonishment, or amazement, as at something unanticipated. To encounter or discover suddenly or unexpectedly; take or catch unawares. However I think the word surprised describes it best. So I will be placing the word back in. Also I didn't originally put that word on this page but you did Riquix. [[2]]. And you were correct.Red Rose 13 (talk) 22:38, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
- I can only repeat myself that it is not a lexicon term you want to have the word in it. And you do not have everything in reference also rewrites. Then you do not need a Wikipedia or lexicon. You write a lot of text to positive in the direction of SRF, you can certainly not deny that. We have already had a lot of discussions. The most curious were such whether Mahasamdhi is cause of death is of PY or whether Yogananda's path is no Hinduism. I also write to another Master so many discussions and mistakes I have not except vandalism in the whole Wikipedia. I am now a week vacation and will not be entangled in discussions.--Riquix (talk) 06:47, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- I am sorry but your English is hard to understand. (1) And personal discussion about other wikipedia editors is not allowed. [[3]] "Do not ask for another's personal details." (2) In regards to the word surprise, in the Autobiography of a Yogi, Yogananda wrote in Chapter 48, in the very first paragraph, "A surprise, sir! During your absence abroad we have had this Encinitas Hermitage built; it is a 'welcome home' gift." (3) Philip Goldberg wrote in his book "The Life of Yogananda" chapter 16 page 233, "James Lynn and Durga Mata took him on a drive, on false pretenses, to the seaside town of Encinitas, north of San Diego. The sisters Wright and their brother Richard surreptitiously drove down ahead of them. A grand surprise had been arranged. Lynn had purchased for his guru a four-and-a-half-acre property... These two references are enough to show that the word surprise is indeed fact.Red Rose 13 (talk) 21:28, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
Most peaceful tourist attraction in CA
editAccording to Travel + Leisure magazine, SRF Encinitas Hermitage and Meditation Gardens was named the most peaceful tourist attraction in California by Casago, a vacation rental company who analyzed TripAdvisor reviews to make the determination.[4] Would this information be suitable to include in the lead, to help establish the subject's notability?
