I took the information from some Turkish websites and the name of the historian ıs being mentioned in different wikipedia articles..(And actually internal lınk provided even though there isnt a separete article ın his name).Why to delete it?
For instance;
In September 2005, Berktay and his fellow historians from different academic backgrounds (Murat Belge, Edhem Eldem, Selim Deringil and many others) held the controversial conference...
Selim Deringil "The Well-Protected Domains: Ideology and the Legitimation of Power in the Ottoman Empire, 1876-1909" p 139-150
Deringil, Selim. "Legitimacy Structures in the Ottoman State: The Reign of Abdulhamid II (1876-1909), International Journal of Middle East Studies, Vol. 23, No. 3 (August, 1991).

- The article needs to meet the following criteria WP:PROF.--Svetovid 12:07, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
I dont want to discuss thıs ıssue to the eternity but ı think ıt does meet the crıterıa;
From WP:PROF; If an academic/professor meets any one of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources, they are definitely notable
The person is regarded as a significant expert in his or her area by independent sources.
The person is regarded as an important figure by independent academics in the same field.
The person has published a significant and well-known academic work. An academic work may be significant or well known if, for example, it is the basis for a textbook or course, if it is itself the subject of multiple, independent works, if it is widely cited by other authors in the academic literature[1].
The person's collective body of work is significant and well-known.
The person is known for originating an important new concept, theory or idea which is the subject of multiple, independent, non-trivial reviews or studies in works meeting our standards for reliable sources. The person has received a notable award or honor, or has been often nominated for them.

- One doesn't have to save the world (lovely straw man BTW), but they need to meet criteria.--Svetovid 18:55, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
