Right, let's take a look....will jot notes below....cheers, Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 14:28, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
- It can range from 15.1 to 17.3 hands (61 to 71 inches,... - the "it" does not agree with the preceding it exactly - maybe reword the pronoun?
--Rephrased, better? --MTBW
Gray is found, but is much more rare,...- "found" ("Hey I found a Gray horse!!!") - sounds funny...actually why not trim to just, "Gray is much rarer," or "-much less common"
--Done --MTBW
- In 1958, it was decided to merge all of the half-blood horses in France... - err, any idea on who was doing the deciding?
--Source is unclear, presumably the entity that governs stud books, but unclear in original source. I will ping @Tsaag Valren: and see if she can help. --MTBW
- No sign of Tsaag, but I ran a translation again, and rewrote that bit. Better? --MTBW
- Hmm, given this is GA not FA, I think I'll let it slide. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 03:21, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

This website...missing the 'ç' ...just a typo or some weird spelling variant?- Weird spelling variant. --MTBW

- Dana appears to be busy, but I will see if I can address your concerns here. But may be a day or two, big weekend in USA. Montanabw(talk) 16:34, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
- @Dana boomer:@Casliber:@Montanabw:I'm just stopping by to check the status of this review. It has been three weeks since it was last touched. Cheers, TLSuda (talk) 16:28, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
- I think I fixed everything raised here, but was there additional work needed? Dana appears to be swamped IRL, so I'll take over and do any fixes required. Montanabw(talk) 17:06, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
- I'll take another look soon. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 21:42, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

Horse racing
editNo mention of the success of SF horses in horse racing??? Definitely an area that needs coverage Tigerboy1966 16:00, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
- Last paragraph of "Uses" section has a sentence or two. Thoughts? Montanabw(talk) 00:17, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out: I'd overlooked that ection. Tigerboy1966 11:39, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- It won't surprise you to learn that racing people are quite sloppy with terminology. In the 90's the term SF was sometimes used for any French non-Tb. What we can say is that many successful NH horses have SF ancestry. Here's an article from the Racing Post looking at the pedigree of First Gold.[9]
- Tigerboy, if you have more good sources we could add to the "uses" section on this, it would be cool. Do we link to National Hunt racing (Just UK) or to Steeplechasing (Worldwide)? Montanabw(talk) 22:09, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- I think Steeplechasing would be more recognised interntionally as a term for races in which horses have to jump obstacles, but might cause some confusion as in Britain and Ireland it denotes a specific type of National Hunt racing. Tigerboy1966 19:20, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
- User:Tigerboy, my apologies for taking so long to respond. Do you have any good sources that discuss the overall use of Selle Francais for breeding race horses, or their affect on the sport? I am having a hard time finding a good overview source that is reliable enough to be used in a good/featured article. The terminology is definitely sloppy in a few spots, and it doesn't help that the Selle Francais breed designation is based more on the studbook trials than on actual breeding. I think that the majority of horses used for racing are actually technically AQPS ("other than Thoroughbred") (that's another article I need to work on!), but from some brief mentions I have seen, it would not surprise me if a number of them had SF blood. Dana boomer (talk) 14:44, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
- Here's an article [10] which gives decent overview and addresses some of the terminology issues (without solving them). An infusion of non-Tb blood does seem to yield good results but can cause some confusion: I have rewritten the lede of Barton (horse) several times. Tigerboy1966 19:20, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
