Disadvantages

This is very poorly stated.

That is not a disadvantage of semi-structured data, but an advantage of traditional data.

Of course we understand the intent, i.e., that a disadvantage of semi-structured data is that it has no such language.

But we should say explicitly what we mean, instead of requiring the reader to implicitly bridge that gap by mentally inverting the logic. Toddcs (talk) 13:26, 28 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

XML readability

Such text is not "human-understandable" any more than a book written in Swahili, which uses the Latin alphabet, would be to a reader who does not know a word of that language but recognizes only its alphabet.

This part does not seem to be written in the correct style for wikipedia. I also do not know why this topic is particularly relevant to this article. I think the whole paragraph should be deleted, or at least reworded significantly. ~2026-46801-17 (talk) 07:42, 27 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
