Islamophobic bias

edit

This article suffers from Islamophobic bias, due to the desire to disassociate Hebrew from Arabic, or any thought of a one-state solution in Israel/Palestine based on common ancestry. The description of the term "Semitic people" as obsolete is clearly racist. The article "Germanic peoples" does not describe that term as obsolete, so why should this article do so? There is no reason other than Islamophobic racism. Westwind273 (talk) 13:44, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Is it safe to say that it's CLEARLY racist though? I do agree that labeling the word "Semite" or the term "Semitic people" as obsolete is erroneous, but to say that it's clearly racist is an exaggeration don't you think? I'm not arguing that whoever wrote that couldn't have had a bias of some sort. I just don't see how it directly ties with Islamophobia. JStonem (talk) 05:30, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps you might provide some reliable sources supporting your position, to counter the sources provided in the article. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 18:53, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
which sources in this article that support the idea that the Semitic speaking peoples are not one people? from what I can tell it gets bogged down in the term "anti-semitism" and in attribution to obsolete 19th century racial theories, but I don't see positive support for any more modern theory? 108.6.235.51 (talk) 03:54, 4 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

According to this claim. Semtic people no longer exist. Only semetic languages. With that being said. The term anti-semetic, does not mean a people but a language. That means jews cannot use the term. As what they speak is Yiddish. I think any ties to jews and the word Semtic, Antisemetic Antisemitism should not be tied together. 170.253.114.119 (talk) 20:54, 9 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Cannolis (talk) 21:33, 9 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
170.253.114.119 -- Your claim would appear to be "original research" and is relevant to the talk page of the main "Antisemitism" article, not this one, anyway... AnonMoos (talk) 18:36, 5 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
