Elite Beat Agents Info
editI'm the one who added the section about the song's appearance in Elite Beat Agents, and I was wondering... is it a bad idea for that single part of the article to make up the majority or the entire thing? The only reason I made it so large was that I thought it was worth noting how comical the plot was. Does anyone have any different views on this? (this unsigned comment was made by User:Aliento)
- Yes, that information is extraneous and doesn't belong there. I've removed it if but if you like, you can add some information back about context: when and where in the plot it was used, for example. --LoganK
Roving Drums
editIn any recording I get of this song, the drums and piano switch left and right channels often through the duration of the song. I don't know if im the only person who noticed this, but does anyone have a recording where the two instruments don't flip? Arc88
-- CAN you get times where you notice this? I have a CD copy 3:35 long.
this is possibly the best dance song to come out of the late 70s <3<3<3
++ Please add the song for some strange reason is very popular in Japan. In the film "Babel", there is a scene in a club where this song is playing
- In a Banana Yoshimoto short story, the song is mentioned.
Perhaps there are many more references to this song in Japanese books/films??
Why September 21st?
editWhat is the significance of the date the song mentions so prominently, "the twenty-first night of September"? Has any explanation been published for the selection of that date? TypoBoy (talk) 16:51, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

Macross Delta - When The Rune Sparkles
editThe Anime Macross Delta appears to use what seems to be a cover or song inspired by September as its Ending and as an insert in at least one episode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucgj9ERsHwo — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.75.188.27 (talk) 00:11, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

December Version
editThere is a later version of the song which is called December instead of September. Seems to be released in 2014, but I think it needs more investigation.
Probably the Text should be written by an good, fluent english speaker, which I’m not. Ezadoo (talk) 18:38, 25 December 2022 (UTC)
- I've never heard it. Do you have a source, @Ezadoo:? ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 10:15, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- You can find it on nearly all Music Streaming Services, like Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

F# minor?
editThe song is in A Major, with the cadence repeatedly avoided by turning the tonic chord into an A sus13. We can cite this YouTube video as a source, if we need one, but come on, how is Bm7-E7-C#m7-F#m7-Bm7-E7-C#m7-F#m7-Bm7-E7-C#m7-F#m7-A sus13 to enable going back to DM7 F# minor? I could see B minor, with the A sus13 as a bVII7 substitute, but F# minor?? But ask yourself, if the A chord were turned into a major triad, would you feel like the progression was resolved? I would. Of course the song wouldn't be nearly as cool and special if they had made that change, but functional harmony is all about setting expectations, whether they are fulfilled or not, and this song definitely has functional harmony. - Shall I make the change and cite the YouTube video? Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:07, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
