Years Active
editAccording to the article the band Leningrad has been formed by Shnurov in 1997 yet it clearly says in year active 2001 to present... Since the first album of Leningrad dates back to 1999 there is definitely an error...24.200.106.202 (talk) 23:54, 15 April 2013 (UTC)faitauqc

Latest Update regarding Russias invasion of Ukraine
editI have to disagree with the following statement:
In 2022, he vocally supported the fascist Russian invasion of Ukraine. He embarassed himself appearing in a youtube video suggesting that to be Russian was equivalent to a Jew in the second world war. Youtube.[9]
It is known that Leningrad and Shnurov are an ironic mirror of Russian society and the majority of their songs are pure irony. This particular song is being sang from the perspective of a Russian residents view of what they believe is happening behind Russia's borders, by hearing it "from a friend". I am writing this as a Ukranian living in Germany. Please feel free to cross-reference and check with russian-speakers. Shnurov has always been known to explicitely not support the Russian government while vocalizing it in a legally still acceptable way.
