- Lead
- "as well as retrieve strategic information from the NETRICSA interface" - I wouldn't recommend using plot-heavy terminology this early in the lead, perhaps rephrase to neural interface
- "The development of The First Encounter began in 1996" - would read better as simply Development began in 1996
- " and created a vertical slice it released as a demo in May 2000" - missing word?
- The last two paragraphs begin with "The First Encounter" - reword one to The game
- Body
- "The NETRICSA interface provides information" - the plot section describes what this is, but here in the gameplay section there the anagram is not fully written out
- "The final team size was ten people" - how about The team consisted of ten people?
- "As the demo for Serious Sam features no crates, it received a rare positive review" - why was receiving a positive review considered rare?
And that's it. This article is well-written and comprehensive, pretty much meeting the GA criteria as it is. I'll leave it on hold until some of my minor queries are clarified, but other than that well done so far! ♦ jaguar 19:34, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you, @Jaguar! As the German colloquialism goes, Ich küsse deine Augen (I kiss your eyes). After three full months, I was worried the article had become too large for anyone to voluntarily review, so I'm really glad you came through. I made a few changes that should address your comments. In particular, I rephrased the sentence on the number of members to emphasise that the team grew to ten people in the game's late development stages, as opposed to having been at that size from the start. - Hey, awesome work! I remember when I first split this article back out you were considering merging it back in (User talk:BOZ/Archive 2020#Serious Sam) but since at the time you were planning to get the Serious Sam articles to GA, I'm glad you went with that instead. :) BOZ (talk) 13:01, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
- April 2020 -- has it really been that long? The article now spans more than 5,000 words, easily the largest in the series, so I wouldn't dare merge it away. Also, since our exchange, I GA/N'd 11 Serious Sam articles. Only five remain! IceWelder [✉] 14:52, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

- Thank you both. This is a solid article, well deserving of the GA icon. I've had another read through and am happy to confirm it meets the GA criteria, quite easily in fact. Well done on bringing this Slavic shooter to GA! It was an enjoyable read, certainly not too long. ♦ jaguar 23:05, 30 October 2023 (UTC)

- Long enough, generally in good shape, promoted within the window. QPQ done. No evidence of copyvio; all that Earwig flags is repetitions of the title in other web pages. I like the hook but think the term "team members" could be a little clearer: how about:
- ALT1: "... that during the production of Serious Sam: The First Encounter, all of its developers were conscripted into the Croatian military?" UndercoverClassicist T·C 09:52, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
- Sounds good, and it's a tad shorter as well. Thanks! IceWelder [✉] 10:02, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
- Approved ALT1, in that case. UndercoverClassicist T·C 10:03, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
