editAlong with the other stoner/doom metal bands this is the only instrumental-only band of this genre. The article must not be deleted. DARKNESS93 (talk) 20:35, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
Removal of 'speedy deletion' tag
editI've removed the 'speedy deletion' tag on the main article. I believe that Serpent Throne qualifies for inclusion in Wikipedia per two WP:BAND criteria:
5. Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable). - Serpent Throne have released two records between Season Of Mist, Vessel Records and Modus Operandi Records, all three of whom meet the stated criteria;
6. Is an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a member of two or more independently notable ensembles. - The band features two independently notable musicians, Don Argott and Demian Fenton, both of whom are presently included in Wikipedia on the basis of their individual work in film and music.
I am aware that this is not cut and dry, but considering the solid case on two points in the Criteria for Inclusion, as well as several other potentially arguable points (like the above-mentioned claim that the band defines a niche of a certain genre, as well as the possibility that the band's coverage in the media qualifies them for inclusion, which is something that I haven't researched) all warrant the group's addition. If anyone disagrees, let's discuss. Colinclarksmith (talk) 17:52, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Proposed merges
editI have proposed merging the individual album articles into the artist's page since they are nothing but track listings and lack independent notability. Golem08 (talk) 00:13, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
