Swirsky has been featured in many books, including How to Raise an American Patriot: Making it Okay for Our Kids to Be Proud to Be American,[1] Beatles engineer Norman Smith's autobiography, John Lennon Called Me Normal,[2] Chuck Negron's (of Three Dog Night) autobiography,[3] Eric Carmen's autobiography[4] and Clive Davis' autobiography, ''The Soundtrack of my Life''.[5] He’s also been written about as a recording artist in Scott Miller’s Music: What Happened[6] and Jordan Oakes’ The Yellow Pills Book.[7]

Swirsky's works have been written about in The New York Times Week In Review,[8][9] The Wall Street Journal,[10] Newsweek,[11] Forbes,[12] People Magazine,[13] The Hollywood Reporter,[14] Harper's Bazaar,[15] Marie Claire,[16] and Parade Magazine.[17] USAToday did a feature story on him in 1997. He has been a guest on many major talk shows, including The Today Show,[18] Good Morning America,[19] and Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld[20][21] on the Fox News Channel. He has been a frequent guest on ESPN's Outside The Lines[22] as well as The Dennis Miller Show. [23]
In 1999, Swirsky was featured in a PBS documentary about his eclectic life [24] called The Passion of Play.[25]
