Expert needed
editThe phenomenon of different-coloured sands spontaneously separating into layers is usually reported by web sources as being "unexplained" or "partially unexplained" from a geological point of view. As all the web sources I found are tourist-oriented web sites, I admit they are unreliable (both because they are not scientific sources and because tourist ads might actually more or less deliberately use the "this is a mistery" argument to capture the reader's interest, whether that is or is not really a mistery). In fact, I am dubious about the fact that this might really be unexplained while seemingly no scientific source on the subject can be found on the web; to me, this lack of scientific sources sounds more like "everything about these colors is obvious to a geologist to start with" than "an explained mystery no one cares to solve". Note that as a minor point, I think the claim that the "dunes never erode" is worth considering by an expert and/or on the base of reliable refs. Moongateclimber (talk) 13:27, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

- I switched to a non problematic (and slightly better - more realistic colors) version. Moongateclimber (talk) 07:39, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Part of Black River Gorges National Park?
editAre the Seven Coloured Earths part of the Black River Gorges National Park? According to openstreetmap they are in(here), according to WDPA and googlemaps they are out (here and here). --Holapaco77 (talk) 09:09, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
- It is a private site, very close to the Black River Gorges National Park, but not part of it. --Esculapio (talk) 16:38, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
