Affinity

Does SHBG have higher affinity for testosterone or estradiol? /Eribro (talk) 20:10, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

human gene? wtf?

edit

This article appears to be about the protein. Now, every protein has its gene, but the protein is of more interest biochemically (and the gene, well genetically).

Secondly, is it unique to humans? Well, a quick BLAST search shows human sex hormone-binding globulin is homologous to mouse hormone-binding globulin (this is not surprising evolutionarily -- if it had been unique to humans it would have been of more interest). acronym

edit

How the hell SHBG is the same as SHGB? The acronym works only in the 1st case, I see. The same thing, I noticed, is for the HBG/HGB meaning Hemoglobin.
