- Wow, thank you! I honestly didn't expect for this article to be taken up for a review so quickly. Aoba47 (talk) 04:44, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Carbrera: Any updates on this? Aoba47 (talk) 02:28, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Aoba47: Very shortly. I apologize on behalf of my busyness. Carbrera (talk) 01:21, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Carbrera: No worries, just wanted to check on the progress. Thank you for your response. Aoba47 (talk) 04:26, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Aoba47: I'll try to complete it after my heart attack stops after this election. My heart is beating rapidly and my hand is shaking. I'm 100% serious. Regards, Carbrera (talk) 04:26, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Carbrera: No worries, there a lot more important things occurring right now so take as much time as you need with this. I will probably not be as active on here, as I am trying to get back into work mode, so whenever is most convenient for you works for me. Aoba47 (talk) 16:32, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- I have been thinking about moving from Sexify (Leah Labelle song) to Sexify as this is the only article with that title. Just wanted to check with you first. Aoba47 (talk) 17:40, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
@Carbrera: I know that you are busy, and I apologize for the inconvenience, but I was wondering if there were any updates for this review? Aoba47 (talk) 15:39, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Aoba47: I will be getting to this tomorrow. Does that work with you? Carbrera (talk) 03:48, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Carbrera: That would be great, thank you! Aoba47 (talk) 04:00, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
Intro/Lead
edit- I don't think "CD single" in the infobox is the best representation; I think if you switched it out for "sampler" it would still do its justice
- Done. Aoba47 (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- I would add "recorded" in between "song and "by"
- Done. Aoba47 (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- Add the release year of the sampler album in the lead sentence please
- Done. Aoba47 (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- You use "it" to begin three sentences in a row, I would try to change it up a bit
- Done. Aoba47 (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- "In its lyrics, LaBelle instructs a woman on how to draw and keep the attention of a man. The lyrics were inspired by headlines from the women's fashion magazine Cosmopolitan." → "In its lyrics inspired by headlines from the women's fashion magazine Cosmopolitan, LaBelle instructs a woman on how to draw and keep the attention of a man."

Background and release
edit- In the last paragraph, there is no mention of it actually being released on June 19, 2012
- Mentioned the dates that it was made available as a digital download (I mentioned all three since it was made available on different dates in different parts of the world), but changed the date in the infobox to better reflect its release (since it was released first on the album sampler, and then as a digital download). Composition and lyrical interpretation
edit- "LaBelle described the single as an "anthem for women". She defined the term "sexify" as a way for women to "make [themselves] feel comfortable and confident and happy and proud" or help their men feel the same way." → "aBelle described the single as an "anthem for women", in which she defined the term "sexify" as a way for women to "make [themselves] feel comfortable and confident and happy and proud" or help their men feel the same way."

- I don't know if the mention of LaBelle being considered a "blue-eyed soul" singer should be here; it seems a bit too trivial to me
- I felt it was important since it follows up on the discussion on how LaBelle was discouraged from singing R&B music since she was white, and her statement that she did want to be discouraged by being a white artist who sings R&B music. The magazine's identification of her as a "blue-eyed soul" singer feeds into that discussion, but I can remove it if you think that is not necessary for the article. This is just my personal belief, but that is why it is always good to get an outside point of view to see if it is really important in the context or not. Aoba47 (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Music video and promotion
edit- First off, I would move this section to below the ones for "Critical reception" and "Chart performance"
- Done. Aoba47 (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- Your plot summary is FA-quality prose; great work
- Thank you! Aoba47 (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- Living the Life should be italicized
- Done. Aoba47 (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Critical reception
edit- Link "Music journalism" to music critics
- Done. Aoba47 (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- I'm not so sure how reliable Popdust.com is
- Makes sense. I have removed the sources. I revised the sentence that used in the music video paragraph as another source covered the same material. I also removed the information from the lead that connected with the Popdust.com sources. Let me know if that is okay. Aoba47 (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- ON HOLD to address the issues I raised above. Thanks so much. Regards, Carbrera (talk) 18:23, 23 November 2016 (UTC).
- @Carbrera: Thank you for your review as always. You always help to put my articles in a lot better shape. I apologize for pinging you so many times earlier and for any inconvenience on my part. Let me know if there is anything else that I can do to improve the article. Aoba47 (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Carbrera: Any updates for this? I apologize for the intrusion, but I was just wondering since it has been four days since your last post. Aoba47 (talk) 17:38, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
