- Category:Abuse by members of Roman Catholic orders to Category:Abuse by members of religious institutes – WP:C2C. Chicbyaccident (talk) 21:11, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
- C2C? This one would be valid under C2D per Abuse by members of religious institutes. – Fayenatic London 21:36, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the remark. Chicbyaccident (talk) 21:57, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose, this is fine as a separate category, and can be listed as a subcategory at the abuse by members page. Randy Kryn (talk) 15:35, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Randy Kryn: Are any of the member pages not about Religious institutes, i.e. orders of the Roman Catholic Church? If not, why would two levels of categories be needed?
- For the record, the main article was moved by the nominator a couple of years ago, without since being disputed, from Abuse by members of Roman Catholic orders to Abuse by members of religious institutes. If this category change is opposed, and there is no need for a split, then I suggest the article name should be moved back; "Roman Catholic orders" is more widely understood than "Religious institute" (since the latter sounds as if it has a wider meaning). – Fayenatic London 09:14, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
- Support moving back the article, for more clarity. Or alternatively: Abuse by members of Catholic orders. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:03, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved as requested per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 18:28, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
Abuse by members of Roman Catholic orders → Abuse by members of Catholic orders – Per WP:CONSISTENCY with Catholic religious order, upon proposal by Marcocapelle, as seen immediately above. Chicbyaccident (talk) 11:30, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
- Support - for me growing up, it was always "Catholic", never "Roman Catholic". The term "Roman Catholic" is used mostly by Protestants. Within the Catholic church, the term "Roman Catholic" might be used to distinguish between different Catholic rites, such as the Lebanese Maronite and Armenian Catholics, but not as an overarching term for the church as a whole. So I'd prefer to change the title from "Roman Catholic orders" to "Catholic orders". MaxBrowne2 (talk) 12:15, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
- Support per consistency. Randy Kryn (talk) 13:16, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
- Support. Consistency with the article Catholic Church, where this issue has been discussed repeatedly. "Roman Catholic" reflects the preferences of the Anglican clergy and the British government, not usage by the Catholic Church itself. Nine Zulu queens (talk) 13:51, 3 August 2018 (UTC)

Sexual abuse scandals in Catholic orders → Sexual abuse scandals in Catholic orders and societies – Broadening the scope slightly. PPEMES (talk) 15:13, 25 June 2019 (UTC) --Relisting. — Newslinger talk 08:50, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
- That would be consistent with the parent, which is currently Category:Catholic orders and societies, as agreed by merger at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2018_March_13#Category:Roman_Catholic_orders_and_societies. A couple of questions:
- Several of the sub-cats of that one use "religious orders". Would it help to include the word "religious", i.e. Sexual abuse scandals in Catholic religious orders and societies? I'm thinking probably not, and instead that word should be removed as unnecessary from the categories concerned.
- Would the proposal actually widen the scope? Society of Jesus and Society of Christ Fathers have "Society" in the name, but are also referred to as orders. – Fayenatic London 10:46, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
- 1. If you prefer without "religious", sure. 2. I'm afraid all entities may still not be referred to as orders but would then still qualify. PPEMES (talk) 11:35, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
- Re (1), see now CFD June 26. – Fayenatic London 07:45, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
