edit- Not "Saikyo Line" but "Tohoku Freight Line"— Preceding unsigned comment added by 133.11.50.129 (talk) 04:11, 20 April 2004 (UTC)
no dedicated track
editThe article claims that the Shōnan-Shinjuku Line runs entirely on the tracks of other lines, but as far as I can tell, this is not completely true. The portion between Ikebukuro and Akabane is, as far as I can tell, only used for the Shōnan-Shinjuku Line. I've never seen freight trains or any other train other than Shōnan-Shinjuku trains running along this section of the track, at least between Ikebukuro and Kaminakazato. It seems to be dedicated only to the Shōnan-Shinjuku Line, which means the article is in error. Can anyone confirm otherwise? LeeWilson (talk) 07:25, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- While the exact boundary may not be totally clear from the station list table in the article, heading north from Ikebukuro, Shōnan-Shinjuku Line trains run over the Yamanote Freight Line as far as the junction just before Tabata which connects with the Tohoku Freight Line. This route is also used by Nikko services, Narita Express services (to/from Omiya), and freight. --DAJF (talk) 08:02, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
