A few things that need checking
edit- Is "Malcom Hudson" correct? Shouldn't that be "Malcolm"? - Quite right, done
- There is no such place in Japan as "Tottiro". Did you mean "Tottori" by any chance?
The translation of Shukokai is a bit strange too. Shuko (修交) means "amicable relations". It doesn't make much sense to translate these two characters individually. -- Sakurambo 桜ん坊 17:10, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- I think some additions to the main instructors of Shukokai are necessary. What are your thoughts?
1. Hanshi Haruyoshi YAMADA, 9th Dan, Japan (Student of Tani) Shito-ryu/Shukokai Karate Union.
2. Hanshi Paul Mitchell, 8th Dan, Australia (student of Tani and Kimura.) Samurai Karate International
Rewrite?
editThis article, as it stands right now, reads as a disogranized mess of spam with barely any information about the style. --Cubbi 13:40, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- fixed --Cubbi 04:58, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
I feel this article still needs a rewrite, or at least a thorough revision, as much more can be said. I'll begin work on it, and ensure that it is thoroughly referenced. Any objections and/or anyone willing to lend a hand? --LosHavros (talk) 16:48, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- I agree - at this time the article is a stub-like lead and a list of sub-schools, which is indeed not good. I am all for improvement, except that sensible references are hard to come by in the world of karate styles. --Cubbi (talk) 19:15, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yea, the martial arts in general are quite murky to document. I'm going to take my time with this one; it is one of those topics that can't be rushed because of conflicting or inadequate sources. --LosHavros (talk) 22:34, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Grading and Infobox additions
editI have added the info box and the grading belt colours. I have also added the 'under construction' tag, as I am making small modifications where necessary and time permits. MrAnderson7 (talk) 22:18, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
—Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.144.109.30 (talk) 19:51, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
refined by Shigeru Kimura?
editIn the main description, one can read: " and refined by his student Shigeru Kimura.". It sure was refined in many ways by this really respected sensei, but this page concerns Shukokai in general and not only KSI. Under the same philosophy, the style was refined by Suzuki sensei, Yamada sensei, Miyake sensei and so on...
So, my thought is, shouldn't this sentence be removed from the description? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asconan2 (talk • contribs) 13:29, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
