I'm pretty sure it's Joseph USTLER, folks (not Utsler)
editShaggy 2 Dope is NOT a satanist
editI don't know who tagged it as such, but I know that he is not a Satanist. ICP is not about Satan. yeah and they worship god and they're good people they support cancer and breast cancer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tghiphop10 (talk • contribs) 23:36, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Ethnic Background
editBesides the worthless messages mentioned above, does anybody have anymore background, such as his ethnicity? Violent J is white, and perhaps Shaggy is too, however I am wondering if he is light-skinned African American or is he half n' half? Just wondering. Also, if anybody can further elaborate on him in the article, it would be much appreciated.Jerre 05:07, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I do not have an online reference to back this up, but I believe Shaggy is part Native American. There was a comment made by Violent J, I believe in his book, about them not celebrating Thanksgiving because of this. If I can find a reference to this, I'll add it under this comment. If anyone else can find a reference, that would be great as well. 74.243.165.226 20:18, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
I know last year on ICP's website there was a photo in the "Photo of the Week" (or w/e it's called) section of Shaggy around the age of 15, and it stated that he was Native American. I believe it even said what tribe. I can't find the picture though, so unfortunatly I can't source this.Juggalobrink 20:53, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I remember the Thanksgiving story from the book and also the picture. I believe he is part Native-American. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Haroldandkumar (talk • contribs) 05:42, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Shaggy 2 Dope is a white male. I have some proof right here. http://www.nndb.com/people/976/000109649/ http://www.artofthemix.org/UploadImages/44602319shaggy2dope.jpg

- Either way, he is a white male, according to his criminal record. Ellomate (talk) 18:52, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Joseph Utsler is Cherokee. He talked about it on the WFKO Tuesday night, as well as Joseph Bruce writing it in his book. I'll add it in this page later, because I plan to do major work on it based on Bruce's autobiography.Juggalobrink (talk) 23:00, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Utsler has African-American ancestry!! He is predominantly white, with both Cherokee and Black heritage. Looking at his younger brother, you just KNOW FOR A SURE FACT that there's black ancestry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.30.234.220 (talk) 06:09, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Shaggy a JCW World Champ?
editCan anyone confirm this? Some guy keeps adding it. But it's the same guy who says J does cartwheels and Shaggy does Moonsaults, so he's unreliable. Anyone know of Shaggy being champ?Juggalobrink (talk) 03:02, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
I found a source. Juggalobrink (talk) 23:25, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

– Unless there's something I'm missing, this seems to be a clear-cut WP:COMMONNAME/WP:STAGENAME situation. (Also, both of these guys are named Joseph? Weird.) I realize they've occasionally used different names in their wrestling careers, and perhaps musical ones, but their Insane Clown Posse monikers are the usual way of referring to them. - Support per nom. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:56, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
- Support - the duo rose to prominence as the Insane Clown Posse, and performed under their "wicked clowns" personas instead of their real names, so their stage names are more notable. I don't think any of their other exploits under other personas (Psychopathic Rydas, Soopa Villainz etc) were as popular as the ICP. starship.paint (talk | ctrb) 11:48, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
- Support Without their clown gimmicks, it's extremely doubtful they'd have had this kind of longevity. Insane people posses are a dime-a-dozen. No stoned masses paint their faces to look like regular Joseph Utsler or Bruce. And, of course, the overwhelming use of the names in sources. InedibleHulk (talk) 16:57, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
- Support per nom. One (two?) of the most obvious cases of WP:STAGENAME ever. oknazevad (talk) 17:28, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
- Support, clearly their common names. McPhail (talk) 18:24, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
- Support I have no intuition about the subjects but seems to indeed meet WP:COMMONNAME, e.g. "shaggy 2 dope" gets 382 google books results, while there's about a hundred (non-llc) for "Joseph Utsler". benmoore 20:40, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
