Talk:Shamo (manga)

Ongoing series, despite no releases in a year or so

The Japanese wikipedia page on Shamo details copyright problems that have stalled the manga. I think it relates to the Chinese license for the movie, but I can't read it too well. We need a translation of this so that our Shamo information is up-to-date and accurate:

最初は双葉社の『漫画アクション』に連載されていたが、同誌の休刊（リニューアル）に伴い『イブニング』に移籍した。なお単行本19巻以前が『アクション』掲載分、20巻以降が『イブニング』掲載分であるが、移籍に伴う諸事情により『アクション』掲載時終盤の数話は単行本として発行されることなくお蔵入りとなっている（移籍後の20巻以降の設定は19巻までに酷似しているものの、中国にいたという設定がなく日本で裏家業を続けているものとなっている可能性が高い）。

2008年1月を境に、『イブニング』誌での連載が原因不明のまま休止している。後に作画担当のたなかが原作者の橋本を相手取り、著作権者がたなかである事の確認や単行本の著作権料を請求したためである事が明らかとなった[1]。

たなかの公式サイトにあるブログ「すまねぇ…」にはナルシマリョウの人形の写真があり、 「久し振りだな、みんな。ナルシマリョウだ。しばらく姿を見せてなかったが別に死んだわけじゃねぇ。ちょっとワケありでな。必ず戻って来るからな、待っとけよ。誰もオレを殺せやしねえ。」とコメントがある。69.250.117.1 (talk) 16:25, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

This article from Anime News Network clarifies the issue completely: [1]. My attempt to add this information to the Shamo article anonymously was reverted by HexaChord, probably because it took me a few edits before I added it successfully.
