The result of the move request was: moved. If the article on the place in Russia is created, this can be revisited to determine a primary topic. Number 57 17:24, 6 February 2015 (UTC) Number 57 17:24, 6 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sharanga (Hindu mythology)SharangaWP:PRECISE. Sharanga was moved to Sharanga (Hindu mythology) and a disambig was created at Saranga. Besides the Hinduism article, it has only a red link – Redtigerxyz Talk 19:18, 30 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:26, 30 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Saranga and Sharanga are different spellings. There is 1 blue link at the disambig. Sharanga in Russia is a red link currently. A google search follows [1] many searches deal with the bow, rather than the town. --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:26, 13 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. The initial move should have been done through a consensus building process. Any determination in a WP:TWODABS case should require discussion, because it is a determination about the primacy of a topic. In any case, there is nothing here that can not be resolved with a hatnote. Both articles are short, so there is not even a likelihood of disruption for readers with slow servers. bd2412 T 17:12, 1 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: not moved. Participants were not convinced by the arguments laid out in the nomination; the WP:CONSISTENT argument was undercut by the fact that the title Śārṅgadeva is not actually aligned with the proposed title, and it was noted that IAST spellings are not frequently used for titling articles on Hindu mythology topics. SharangaSharnga – @Chronikhiles: Please restore my move for this page tfor the sake of maintaining consistency with other articles, Sharngadhara-paddhati and Sharngadeva, with the same spelling. Also the new title will reflect the IAST spelling accurately. I request you to restore my references which you have reverted in the article. In my experience, the majority of articles on Hindu mythology do not conform to the IAST spelling, so this is not a compelling argument. Even then, the accurate spelling would be Śārṅga, not Sharnga. I don't see why this article needs to be an exception to the rule. As for the removed reference, most of the article employs wisdom library, which I have realised is not a reliable source. I will work on finding reliable ones to improve the article quality. Chronikhiles (talk) 02:41, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
